Job summary

Armor Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Lackawanna County Prison team in a PRN capacity, working 3pm–11pm with alternating weekends and holidays. The role provides holistic care in a correctional setting and supports physicians, RNs, and clinicians with examinations and treatments.

Qualified candidates hold an active LPN license and CPR certification, with EMR proficiency and the ability to pass a Level 2 background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• Current/Active LPN license
• CPR certificate
• Proficient with electronic medical records
• Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance including background check and drug screen

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
• Assist health care providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals with examinations, treatments, special tests, and routine procedures.
• Obtain patient health history, laboratory specimens, vital signs and administers TB skin tests.
• Conduct lab tests and ensure the results are delivered to the correct physician or registered nurse.
• Ensure patient is receiving proper care for injury or condition.
• Review patient chart; records and reports observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient's conditions.
• Coordinate patient transfers to medical facilities or outside health care providers; administer medications; implement healthcare practitioners' orders; and document all patient contacts using the POMR format.
