Job summary

Armor Health, Blair County Jail, Hollidaysburg, PA, seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide primary care within a secure correctional setting. You will conduct examinations, diagnoses and treatment, and develop patient plans while coordinating with care teams.

Required NP license and CPR. Two years of NP experience and EMR proficiency are expected; ACLS is preferred. Pre-employment clearance and background checks are mandatory. On-site role with comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Current license as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Two (2) years of NP experience preferred.
• Current CPR certification; ACLS certification preferred.
• Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance, including background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent primary care in a correctional setting.
• Perform exams, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up and health education.
• Gather histories and develop treatment plans using POMR format.
• Supervise and/or coordinate activities of patient care staff.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions.

Responsibilities

• Under indirect supervision, provide independent primary care in a correctional healthcare setting to a specified population of non‑emergency patients.
• Perform medical examinations and evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow‑up consultation, and health education.
• Obtain patient histories and develop patient care treatment plans, ensuring completeness and accuracy using the POMR format.
• Supervise and/or coordinate the activities of patient care and/or support staff.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions.
• Prescribe medications and other treatments.
• Participate in planning programs and in developing specific health policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Current license as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Current CPR certification; ACLS certification preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience as a NP.
• Proficient with electronic medical records.
• Ability to pass pre‑employment Level 2 clearance, including background check and drug screen.
