Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Medical Lab Technician for a Freestanding Emergency Department on a PRN night schedule. The role involves performing routine lab procedures on blood, urine, and tissue samples and analyzing results to guide patient care.

The tech will maintain equipment and may educate staff as needed. Requirements include an associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology or an equivalent path, with certification as an MLT due within 12 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent via military training or coursework.
• Certification as Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine laboratory procedures on specimens such as blood, urine, and tissue samples.
• Analyze test results to determine the presence, absence, or cause of disease.
• Maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and timely reporting of findings.
• Function as an educator as necessary.

Education

Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology

Military training as Medical Laboratory Specialist (50+ weeks) or equivalent with 60 semester hours including ML/T courses
