Job summary

Baptist Health in Kentucky is seeking a Medical Lab Technician for a Freestanding Emergency Department. The role involves performing routine lab procedures on blood, urine, and other specimens, analyzing results, and maintaining equipment; you will also act as an educator when needed.

The position is full-time, nights 7p–7a, with a 15% shift differential and a $5,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates. Eligible candidates must meet education and certification requirements and complete ASCP or

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology required.
• Education and training equivalent to an associate degree: 60 sem hours incl. 24 sem hrs MLS/MLT or 24 sem hrs science with chemistry/biology.
• Must obtain ASCP or AMT MLT certification within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine laboratory procedures on blood, urine, and tissue samples.
• Analyze test results to determine presence, absence, or cause of disease.
• Maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and timely reporting of findings.
• Function as an educator as necessary.

Skills

MLT certification within 12 months

Education

Associate degree MLS/MLT

High school + 50+ weeks military training

60 sem hrs with MLS/MLT courses

Clinical lab training or 3 months lab work
