Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for our Freestanding Emergency Department. This full‑time night shift (7p–7a) includes a 15% shift differential and a $5,000 sign‑on bonus for external candidates.

The role performs routine lab work on blood, urine and tissue samples and reports findings to the clinical team. Requirements include an associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology (or an approved alternative as detailed), and certification as an MLT

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent alternative as described
• Must obtain MLT certification within 12 months of hire
• Clinical laboratory experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine laboratory procedures on blood, urine, and tissue samples
• Analyze test results to determine disease presence or cause
• Maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate reporting
• Educate staff as necessary
