Job summary

Akumin is seeking a PRN MRI Technologist to perform MRI procedures and produce diagnostic images across Massachusetts sites. You will ensure patient safety, verify protocols, and assist licensed practitioners with interpretation while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The role requires ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT, state license where applicable, CPR/BLS, and at least 3 years of experience. Per-diem availability and coverage within a 30-day window are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification as allowable by contract in lieu of ARRT.
• State license, if applicable required.
• CPR Certification, BLS from AHA or ARC; ACLS where applicable.
• Valid state driver’s license, as applicable required.
• Minimum 3 years technologist experience.
• Ability to work at several locations and travel locally.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for Patient Safety, including pre-screening and access control for zones and exams.
• Produces high quality diagnostic images per imaging protocols and standards.
• Effectively communicates with customers and radiologists to address concerns.
• Demonstrate independent competency in contrast safety and administration.
• Train and orient new technologists and MR assistants, on site or remote.
• Other duties as assigned by leadership.
