Job summary

HCA Healthcare Laboratory Services in Florida seeks a Medical Technologist PRN to provide expertise in timely laboratory testing and patient result interpretation. You will join a team supporting patient care with emphasis on accuracy, documentation, and quality control.

The role requires an Associate or Bachelor's in Medical Technology, with Florida licensure or licensure via interview. Rotation includes weekend shifts with an 8-hour night schedule and collaborative staff support.

Qualifications

• 2 Year/Associate Degree required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of MT experience preferred.
• License in Florida or ability to obtain during interview.
• Specialty areas: Generalist (Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology).

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing per instructions.
• Assume department responsibilities in supervisor's absence.
• Complete all records and documentation for patient results.
• Perform stat procedures within turnaround time targets.
• Use good judgement in interpretation of patient results and delta checks.
• Review logs (OSR) and result logs; communicate outstanding workload.
• Perform quality control procedures per protocol and handle critical specimens.
