Job summary

HCA Healthcare Laboratory Services in Florida is seeking a Medical Technologist to provide expert testing and reliable patient results. The role includes handling proficiency testing, documentation, and quick turnarounds, with supervision duties when the supervisor is absent.

The ideal candidate has an Associate or Bachelor degree in Medical Technology, at least 1 year of MT experience, and Florida licensure or ability to obtain during the interview process.

Qualifications

• A 2 Year/Associate Degree is required.
• A 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist preferred.
• A State of Florida Technologist License is required OR the ability to obtain a license during the interview process.
• Licens(es) in one or more clinical specialty areas: Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing by analyzing proficiency testing samples.
• Assume responsibility of the department in the absence of the supervisor.
• Complete all required records/documentation pertaining to patient results.
• Perform stat procedures within established turnaround time targets.
• Demonstrate good judgement in correlation and interpretation of patient results.
• Review pending logs and result logs; resolve workload or communicate with staff.
• Perform quality control procedures per protocol and handle critical specimens.
