Job summary

MUSC Health Florence Medical Center is seeking a PRN Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) / Medical Technologist (MT) for the 2nd shift in Florence, SC. The role requires graduation from a NAACLS-accredited program and ASCP/AMT/NCA/HEW certification, with 1–2 years in an accredited lab preferred (new grads considered).

Responsibilities include performing diagnostic tests, preparing specimens, operating automated instruments, and maintaining quality control while adhering to HIPAA and safety

Qualifications

Graduate of NAACLS approved program for Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
ASCP, AMT, NCA, or HEW certification required.
1–2 years’ experience in an accredited laboratory preferred, new grads welcome.

Responsibilities

Performs routine and specialized diagnostic medical lab tests according to established protocols and procedures.
Prepares specimens for microscopic examination or testing procedures.
Operates automated laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
Performs quality control and assurance procedures.
Records lab results in specified system.
Follows HIPAA privacy, safety, and biohazard procedures and standards.
