Job summary

MUSC Health Florence Medical Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for the night shift (9:30 p.m.–8:00 a.m.). You will perform routine and specialized tests, prepare specimens, operate automated instruments, and ensure accurate results to support patient care.

Education must be from a NAACLS-accredited MLT program, with certification within 1 year (ASCP/AMT/NCA/HEW). 1–2 years in an accredited lab is preferred, but new grads are welcome.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited/NAACLS approved Medical Laboratory Technician program.
• Certification within 1 year: ASCP/AMT/NCA/HEW.
• 1–2 years experience in an accredited lab preferred; new grads accepted.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of routine and specialized diagnostic medical lab tests as requested by healthcare staff according to established protocols and procedures.
• Prepares specimens for microscopic examination or testing procedures.
• Operates automated laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Performs quality control and assurance procedures.
• Records lab results in specified system.
• Follows all required HIPAA privacy, safety, and biohazard procedures and standards.
