Job Description Summary: Come join a Laboratory team that makes a difference in the lives of its patients each and every day! MUSC/Florence, SC is currently seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)/Medical Technologist (MT) to join their phenomenal team on a PRN basis.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of routine and specialized diagnostic medical lab tests as requested by healthcare staff according to established protocols and procedures.
• Prepares specimens for microscopic examination or testing procedures.
• Operates automated laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Performs quality control and assurance procedures.
• Records lab results in specified system.
• Follows all required HIPAA privacy, safety, and biohazard procedures and standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited/NAACLS approved program for Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
• Certification: ASCP, AMT, NCA, or HEW required.
• One to two years’ experience working in an accredited laboratory preferred, but will gladly accept new grads.
