Baptist Health Georgetown is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Technician (PRN I) for the third shift in the Clinical Lab and Pathology Department. You will maintain technical competency, perform downtime procedures, evaluate testing processes, and communicate effectively with staff to ensure reliable results.

Applicants should have an Associate’s degree with certification eligibility in clinical laboratory science and obtain CLIA certification within a year.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required and clinical lab science certification eligibility/obtainment within 1 year.
• Familiarity with LIS and downtime procedures to support accurate testing.
• Ability to evaluate procedures and select appropriate investigative techniques.

Responsabilités

• Maintains technical competency related to job functions.
• Understands LIS functions and downtime procedures.
• Evaluates procedures and selects appropriate investigative techniques.
• Identifies and resolves problems that may affect test results and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Determines specimen acceptability via visual inspection or abnormal results.
• Documents unacceptable specimens per policy and communicates requirements to staff.
• Assesses job function problems and takes corrective action.
• Identifies issues with specimens, test orders, registration; takes appropriate action.
• Handles troubleshooting professionally and communicates delays to coworkers and customers.
• Utilizes complex problem-solving skills to resolve clinical and instrument problems.
