Job summary

JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, Texas seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) PRN to perform chemical analyses of specimens and support multiple departments including Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology/Immunology/Serology, and Transfusion Services.

The MLS PRN will compile data from routine to complex tests, ensure quality control, and provide technical guidance. Located at John Peter Smith Hospital, shift options are varied and the role supports patient care across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological or Clinical Laboratory Science.
• Must obtain MT/MLS/CLS or ASCP/AMT certification within 1 year of employment.
• CLIA ’88 qualifications met.

Responsibilities

• Conducts routine to complex laboratory tests and analyses of patient specimens for diagnosis and treatment.
• Performs calibration and preventive maintenance; verifies Quality Control values.
• Provides guidance and training to new staff and students; participates in proficiency surveys.
