Job summary

Texas Health Kaufman seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join the Laboratory Department. The MLS will ensure specimen integrity and quality control while supporting staff and students in a community hospital setting.

Candidates should have a Medical Technology internship and a relevant Bachelor's degree, with licensure or certification as MT/MLS. This PRN role offers a path to growth within a remodeled lab at a growing facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science or related science preferred.
• Internship in an approved Medical Technology training program required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains specimen integrity throughout the testing process.
• Demonstrates active cost effectiveness.
• Participates in orientation and training of students, volunteers, new employees and observers.
• Gives direction and guidance to technical staff and laboratory support personnel.
• Demonstrates understanding of quality control guidelines.

Here’s What You Need

• Bachelor's Degree Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science preferred. Individuals hired as a CLS II prior to January 3, 2010 will be grandfathered to the MLS position with existing education. degree may be obtained within 3 months of hire is required
• Internship in an approved Medical Technology training program is required and
• 2 Years experience in a Medical Laboratory is preferred
• MT(ASCP) - Medical Technologist 6 Months is required Or
• MLS(ASCP) - Medical Lab Scientist 6 Months is required Or
• Other AMT, AAB, HHS, NCA, HEW, CLS- CA, FL, NY state license, Philippine Board of Technical Technology 6 Months is required Or
• M(ASCP) - Microbiology if working in Microbiology 6 Months is required
