Job summary

MorningStar Senior Living in Peoria, AZ is seeking a PRN Certified Caregiver & Med Tech to administer medications and provide resident care in a senior living community. The role requires an AZ caregiver certification and ongoing commitment to medication administration duties, with a pay rate of $19.00–$21.00 per hour depending on experience.

The position involves on-call shifts, direct resident interaction, and adherence to state medication regulations under the Wellness Director.

Qualifications

• AZ caregiver certification and state-approved Medication Administration training are required.
• First Aid certification as required by ALF regulations; QMAP (CO) mentioned.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; experience in Assisted Living or Memory Care preferred; medication administration experience.
• Monthly in-service education/training within the community.
• Must read/write English and communicate effectively; good judgment and residents’ best interests.
• Knowledge of medication administration procedures and universal precautions.
• Industry experience: minimum three years in senior living preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer and document prescribed medications per physician orders and Medication Administration record.
• Order meds from pharmacy 7 days before running out and ensure arrival; notify Wellness Director if not.
• Document meds given immediately after administration; date and initial bubble pack.
• Observe and report medication reactions/side effects to licensed nurse.
• Take and record vital signs prior to meds that affect vitals as ordered.
• Administer PRN medications per physician order.
• Report medication errors to Wellness Director immediately.
• Assist with development/review of resident care plans with other disciplines.
• Ensure privacy, respect, and dignity of residents.
• Detect, correct, and report unsafe conditions affecting residents.
• Ensure physical comfort, safety, and mental well-being; assist with daily care tasks.
