Job summary

SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - St. Louis is seeking a Mammography Radiologic Technologist to join the Imaging department on a PRN as-needed basis.

This position focuses on performing mammography imaging and ensuring patient comfort and safety. Qualified candidates will have completion of a Radiology Technology program, ARRT-R, and ARRT-M credentials (obtained within 12 months of hire). BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Radiology Technology program.
• ARRT-R Radiography credential is required.
• ARRT-M Mammography credential must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS HCP) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Operates mammography equipment and performs related imaging procedures.
• Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomical/technical parameters.
• Explains procedures and educates patients about regular mammography.
• Develops and evaluates image quality including density, contrast, and definition.
• Maintains radiation safety procedures and follows guidelines.
• Ensures prompt submission of high-quality images to PACS.
• Keeps department clean and orderly and reports equipment issues.
