Job summary

AdventHealth Orlando is seeking a Radiology Mammography Technologist to join our breast imaging team on a PRN day shift. You will perform high-quality mammography exams, adhere to MQSA/ACR guidelines, and collaborate with radiologists to ensure accurate, timely results.

The role requires ARRT MRT/RT certification, BLS, and at least 1 year of experience in mammography, with strong patient communication and safety focus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• 1+ year of imaging experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and ARRT MRT/RT licensing.
• Must read, write and speak conversational English.

Responsibilities

• Schedule PRN day shifts and assist with recalls and imaging coordination.

Job Description:

Schedule: PRN- Day shift Monday – Friday as needed

Participates in patient tracking and follow-up processes, assisting with recalls, additional imaging coordination, and biopsy scheduling as required by departmental workflows.

Supports breast center initiatives, such as accreditation preparation, community screening events, or quality improvement activities.

Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.

Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.

Performs high-quality examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis.

Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.

Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low. Performs and documents daily system quality control (QC) checks in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements.

Positions patients and operates mammography equipment to obtain optimal images, adjusting technical factors and compression as needed.

Ensures patient identification, safety, and comfort, explaining procedures clearly and addressing questions or concerns with professionalism and compassion.

Follows all MQSA, FDA, and ACR guidelines, including quality control testing, equipment performance checks, and documentation requirements.

Collaborates with radiologists and breast imaging team to ensure accurate imaging and timely communication of results or next steps.

Performs other duties as assigned.

• Ability to follow Basic Radiation Safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patients and staff [Required]
