Job summary

John Knox Village East is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Nursing team on a PRN basis in a long-term care setting. You will provide high-quality nursing care under the supervision of an RN or physician, focusing on residents’ health, comfort, and well-being.

The role requires an active Missouri LPN license, current CPR/BLS, and prior experience in long-term care or geriatrics.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in Missouri, in good standing.
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or geriatrics preferred
• Strong clinical, organizational, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to lead and work collaboratively with a care team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Dependable, flexible, and able to adapt to changing resident needs

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with resident care plans and physician orders
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor residents’ conditions, including vital signs, and report changes promptly
• Assist in developing, updating, and implementing individualized care plans
• Supervise and delegate tasks to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulations
• Respond to resident needs, concerns, and emergencies in a timely manner
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and HIPAA regulations
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team on a PRN basis in a long-term care environment. The LPN will provide high-quality nursing care to residents under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician, ensuring residents’ health, comfort, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with resident care plans and physician orders
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately

Schedule & Availability

• PRN (as-needed) position with flexible scheduling
• Must be willing to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
• Ability to assist residents with mobility and transfers (up to 50 lbs or more with assistance)
