Job summary

Holy Cross Hospital Jordan Valley is seeking an RN Lactation Consultant to assess and manage breastfeeding mothers and babies, exercising independent nursing judgment in evaluation and initiation of care. The role includes direct patient care, staff training, and development of lactation education for clients and hospital staff.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with an active license in the appropriate state.
• BSN preferred.
• International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) or Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) required.

Responsibilities

• Assess lactating patients and newborns, providing direct care and independent clinical judgment.
• Support lactation training for hospital staff and new associates.
• Develop and update lactation policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement individualized patient care plans.
• Educate colleagues and clients on lactation practices and adult learning principles.
• Document assessments, outcomes, and plans of care.
