Job summary

Community Health Systems in Fort Wayne, Indiana seeks a Registered Nurse for a 20 bed Level 2 Labor & Delivery, Postpartum and Newborn Nursery unit. This PRN role supports staffing across 7a-7p or 7p-7a shifts, delivering patient-centered care per clinical protocols.

You will assess patients, administer medications, monitor fetal and maternal well-being, and collaborate with physicians and the care team. Strong clinical judgment, infection control, and compassionate communication are essential

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RN license in Indiana or a multi-state license.
• BLS (and ACLS/PALS preferred).
• Experience in obstetrics, postpartum, or newborn care is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient-centered care per nursing process and hospital protocols.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for side effects.
• Assist physicians during procedures within documented competency.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions.
• Maintain infection control practices and document care thoroughly.
