Indiana University Health’s Riley Hospital for Children is seeking a skilled RN Lactation Consultant II to provide expert breastfeeding and infant feeding support primarily within the Postpartum Unit in the Riley Maternity Tower.

This PRN role requires collaboration with physicians, nurses, and allied teams to deliver high-quality lactation care and education to mothers and families, aligning with ANA standards of ethics and patient-centered practice.

Qualifications

• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Active RN license in Indiana or NLC.
• IBCLC certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience with childbearing families or maternal health nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide lactation assessment, consultation, education, and support in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Utilize clinical expertise to assess needs, identify feeding challenges, and create care plans.
• Serve as expert consultant and advocate for evidence-based lactation practices.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams to improve outcomes.
• Educate patients, families, and staff on lactation management and feeding best practices.
• Develop and maintain educational resources for diverse audiences.
