Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring for a part-time Food & Nutrition role at St. Lukes Medical Center in Milwaukee. You will review production sheets, prepare food, monitor temperatures, and ensure safe handling and accurate portions in a fast-paced kitchen.

Requires ServSafe certification within 1 year, a high school diploma, and about 3 years of experience in food production in institutional settings. Per diem schedule with pay between $20.80 and $31.20 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 3 years of experience in food production in settings such as a hotel, restaurant or high end institutional environment.

Responsibilities

• Reviews production sheets and recipes to ensure quality and quantity for items to prepare.
• Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe and uses kitchen utensils to prepare items.
• Bakes, roasts, broils and steams meat, fish, vegetables and other foods per recipes and portions meats and cheeses.
• Garnishes, displays and serves food items according to standards and recipes.
• Ensures proper storage and rotation of inventories; monitors temperatures and safe handling procedures.
• Follows department standards for safe food handling and sanitation; maintains temperature logs.
• Monitors portioning and waste reduction; prepares in small batches to control waste and costs.
• Demonstrates knowledge to provide age-appropriate care information for patients served.
