Job summary

Amedisys Home Health is seeking a PRN/Per-Diem Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver therapy services under supervision, aligning with physician-approved plans of care. This role supports patient healing at home and coordinates with the supervising PT and care team.

Eligible candidates hold a current PTA license in the assigned state, CAPTE-accredited program graduate status, and CPR certification, with at least one year of home health experience or a pathway for mentorship if less than a year

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a physical therapy assistant.
• Graduate from CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• One year related PTA experience for home health care.
• Approval from regional clinical leaders if less than one year of experience and mentoring/residency may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services under supervision and in accordance with the plan of care.
• Observes and reports patient responses and changes to supervising PT and clinical staff.
• Maintains documentation of supervisory activities in the patient record.
• Promotes wellness and prevention and coordinates follow-up care with the admitting agency.
