Job summary

HCA Florida Brandon Hospital is seeking a registered nurse for a PRN position in Brandon, FL. The RN coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with the care team, following standard nursing models and hospital policy.

The ideal candidate holds a Florida RN license (compact acceptable), a nursing diploma/ASN, and current BLS with ACLS, PALS/ENPC, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS within six months of hire. ER experience is required for PRN.

Qualifications

• Florida Registered Nurse license required or FL compact licensure
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Minimum one year ER RN experience in acute care; PRN
• Current BLS certification
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire/transfer
• PALS and/or ENPC certifications within 6 months of hire/transfer
• CPI and TNCC certifications within 6 months of hire/transfer
• NIHSS certification within 6 months of hire/transfer
• Critical thinking, service excellence and strong interpersonal communication; good PC skills

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly and reassess after interventions
• Perform procedures and document care in the EMR
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs
• Educate patients/families/caregivers about condition, plan, medications, and side effects
• Teach non-medicinal follow-up measures such as diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes
