Job summary

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; education must be from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Competency; must demonstrate technical competence for performance protocols specific to the department.
• Prioritize and schedule exams; coordinate with medical staff and patients.
• Prepare for exam by patient identification, educate patient/family, and transport patient; perform ultrasound exams.
• Identify patient needs during exam and communicate with physicians and caregivers.
• Document exam results and apply charge codes for exams and supplies.
• Clean and maintain equipment and work area; coordinate repairs or supplies.
• Support quality improvement processes and participate in educational opportunities.
