Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a PRN Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO. You will perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, apply Doppler techniques, and communicate findings to the interpreting radiologist.

You will ensure patient safety, explain procedures, and maintain equipment and environment. Responsibilities include operating imaging equipment, coordinating exam sequences, and assisting with student instruction.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate
• Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program which meets ARDMS requirements.
• Preferred: RDMS and RVT credentials in addition to basic certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations with cognitive skills to identify, document, and adapt examinations.
• Explain examinations to patients and ensure safety and comfort during the procedure.
• Operate a wide variety of imaging equipment efficiently and arrange examinations to minimize patient stay.
• Maintain equipment QC and report malfunctions; ensure cleanliness and supply par levels.
• Provide instruction to sonography students and residents when appropriate; coordinate with staff as needed.
