Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer for a PRN, part-time position in Liberty, MO. You will perform transthoracic echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, and related studies, adapting protocols to patient needs while supporting on-call echocardiographic services.

The role requires education in cardiac ultrasound, BLS, potential RDCS/RCS credentials, IV/UEA training, and strong patient communication.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate
• Graduate of an accredited cardiac ultrasound/echocardiography program or health science degree (including cardiovascular tech, ultrasound, radiologic tech, nursing)
• IV and UEA contrast administration training may be required
• BLS certification may be required at hire
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or RDCS with 180-day credentialing timeline

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient history and perform pre-ultrasound assessment.
• Explain procedures to patients and obtain cooperation as needed.
• Perform routine and complex cardiac ultrasound procedures including echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms.
• Assist in TEE image acquisition and on-call echocardiographic services as assigned.
• Maintain equipment logs and ensure safety and cleanliness of supplies.
