Qualifications

• Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program meeting ARDMS requirements.
• RDMS/RVT credentials within defined timeframes and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations using cognitive skills to identify, document, and adapt examinations.
• Assumes responsibility for patient safety, comfort, and proper identification during the exam.
• Operates imaging equipment safely, coordinates examinations efficiently, and minimizes patient stay.
• Maintains equipment and performs QC, reporting malfunctions promptly.
• Interacts with physicians and staff to provide safe, high-quality patient care.
• Provides instruction to students and coordinates with ancillary personnel as needed.
• Completes divisional paperwork and mandatory educational assignments as directed.
• Performs the professional, clinical, and technical competencies of the assigned unit.
