Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a CT Technologist I to perform CT procedures according to departmental protocols. The role operates CT scanners and related equipment, ensuring patient safety and image quality. The position is PRN, with variable scheduling and no guaranteed hours.

Responsibilities include patient prep, history review, order verification, traumatic and non-traumatic imaging, IV contrast administration, and coordination with Radiologist plus adherence to radiation safety standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an ARRT-recognized Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• ARRT CT registry within one year of hire is required; BLS is required.

Responsibilities

• Verify orders and refer questions to Radiologist before exams.
• Identify patients with two identifiers and explain procedures.
• Review patient history and correlate tests and results for imaging.
• Perform CT scans and assist Radiologist/PA during procedures.
• Follow radiation safety guidelines and maintain equipment and work areas.
• Rotate shifts, including holidays and weekends, and participate in on-call as needed.
• Operate radiology information system, document contrast administration, and ensure proper charging of supplies.

Education

ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine and advanced registry from the ARRT in CT within one year of hire
