Job summary

Advanced Health Care in Ohio seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support Occupational Therapists in a Skilled Nursing Facility. This PRN position focuses on assisting with assessments, implementing treatment plans, and promoting resident independence.

You will document progress, collaborate with the care team, and ensure safety and quality in therapy sessions while using adaptive equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
• At least 1–2 years of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred.
• State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a COTA.

Responsibilities

• Assist Occupational Therapists in assessments of residents' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial functioning, focusing on ADL/IADL abilities.
• Implement individualized treatment plans with therapeutic exercises and activities.
• Provide hands-on assistance and guidance during therapy sessions, ensuring safety and proper technique.
• Utilize adaptive equipment and environment modifications to promote independence in daily tasks.
• Document resident progress and treatment outcomes accurately and timely.
• Communicate with OT, nursing staff, and team members to coordinate care.
