Job summary

UnityPoint Health seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support patient rehabilitation under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. The role focuses on delivering therapeutic interventions, documenting progress, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include educating patients and caregivers, maintaining compliance with regulations, and contributing to care conferences to optimize outcomes across care settings.

Qualifications

• Meets educational requirements to obtain a professional license as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA).
• Experience as a COTA in a therapy setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Occupational Therapists to provide individualized, evidence-based interventions that help patients improve function, independence, and participation in meaningful daily activities.
• Educate patients and caregivers, monitor progress, and collaborate to optimize outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and billing, participate in care conferences, communicate effectively with the supervising OT and interdisciplinary team, and ensure compliance with regulatory, payer, and organizational requirements.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and professional development within the therapy team.
