Job summary

Centerpoint Medical Center is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join the Occupational Therapy Department. The COTA will support medically prescribed therapy, document care, and help restore patient function across adult age groups in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include ensuring care aligns with national standards, maintaining equipment, and participating in a team that values integrity, compassion, respect, and excellence in patient care.

Qualifications

• Requires OT degree and licensure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to document and coordinate care per policy.
• Comfort working in a hospital OT department with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing medically prescribed occupational therapy in the hospital setting.
• Ensure services align with national standards and hospital policy.
• Provide timely documentation to support inpatient discharge.
• Maintain rehabilitation equipment and supplies.
• Demonstrate AIDET in patient interactions.
• Attend to patients across age groups including young adult to geriatric.
• Support safety and quality standards in daily tasks.
