Job summary

Orchard Post Acute is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. Work with a supportive interdisciplinary team to help residents improve independence and quality of life.

The COTA will provide treatments under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist, assist with activities of daily living, document progress, and collaborate with nursing and therapy staff. Competitive pay and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Licensed California COTA in good standing.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide OT treatments under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Follow individualized plans of care and therapy goals.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, mobility, coordination, strength, and functional skills.
• Teach residents how to safely use adaptive equipment and techniques.
• Observe and document residents’ progress, responses to treatment, and changes in condition.
• Communicate resident updates and concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on exercises, safety, and treatment recommendations.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with nursing, rehabilitation, and other interdisciplinary team members.
• Follow all facility policies and applicable state and federal regulations.
