Job summary

Orchard Post Acute seeks a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis in Fresno, CA. You will provide OT treatments under a licensed OT, follow care plans, assist with ADLs and mobility, and document progress.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current California COTA license in good standing.
• CPR/BLS certification.
• Skilled nursing or long-term care experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Compassionate, dependable, and resident-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Follow individualized plans of care and established therapy goals.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, mobility, coordination, strength, and functional skills.
• Teach residents how to safely use adaptive equipment and techniques.
• Observe and document residents’ progress, responses to treatment, and changes in condition.
• Communicate resident updates and concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on exercises, safety, and treatment recommendations.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with nursing, rehabilitation, and other interdisciplinary team members.
• Follow all facility policies and applicable state and federal regulations.
