Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of Med Tech or Medication Aide experience is required.
• CNA certification in SC is preferred and CPR/AED certification is needed or obtainable.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Ability to read numbers and written material and to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications accurately using the six rights of medication administration.
• Monitor residents and report changes in condition to licensed nursing staff.
• Document care and medication administration in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Maintain medication inventories and coordinate timely reorders.
• Complete narcotic counts at shift change and report discrepancies immediately.
• Follow all medication storage, handling, and destruction procedures.
• Communicate effectively with nurses, residents, and family members.
• Help create a safe, comfortable environment for residents.
