Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology required.
• Hold or be eligible for a Speech-Language Pathology Conditional License (COND.SP) from the State Board of Speech Language Pathology & Audiology.
• Hold Conditional License in the state of Ohio upon start date.
• Meet all academic and practicum guidelines established by ASHA for CCC-SLP.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic speech pathology test procedures and evaluate communication and swallowing function of patients.
• Interpret and report test results to facilitate medical diagnosis.
• Provide counseling and education about communication and the diagnosis to patients and families.
• Determine therapeutic plans, including need for therapy, frequency of treatment, focus for intervention, prognosis and duration.
• Select assistive speech devices to improve patient communication.
• Perform re-evaluation to determine progress after therapy.
• Maintain records of all services.
• Communicate results and recommendations to referral sources and outside agencies.
