Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is seeking a PRN Speech Language Pathologist to diagnose and treat speech, language, voice and swallowing disorders across life spans. The role includes evaluating patients, planning and supervising treatments, and coordinating with physicians.

The ideal candidate holds a Masters/Doctorate/SLP-D, is licensed in Florida (CCC-SLP preferred) and has externship experience.

Qualifications

• Masters, Doctorate or SLP-D Degree from an accredited School of Speech-Language Pathology
• Registered in the State of Florida
• Current Speech-Language Pathology License (SP) from the State Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology or eligible
• Speech Pathologist (SP) license in the state of Florida
• Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American-Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
• Externship experience

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and apply a wide variety of therapeutic techniques for the rehabilitation of patients with functional limitations, impairments and disorders
• Provide, interpret, plan and supervise patient evaluations and treatments in accordance with the physician referral, ensuring the care, safety and wellbeing of the patient
• Continually review the plan of care and make revisions as needed
• Prepare progress reports on all treatments in conjunction with departmental policies and procedures and report to the physician as needed
• Instruct and counsel medical staff and family members to assist the patient in treatment techniques
• Perform voice evaluations, treatment of various voice disorders and bedside swallow evaluations
• Demonstrate competency with the MBSs for adults and pediatrics
• Follow Code Blue and all protocols as per Clinic policy
• Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by the Joint Commission
