Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories in New Mexico is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant to work with minimal supervision and perform one or more modalities. Compensation is dependent on modalities; candidates without experience may join a paid apprenticeship. Regular in-person attendance during scheduled hours is essential.

TriCore is New Mexico's largest laboratory with over 1400 staff, offering a pathway for growth in patient care and diverse laboratory functions across locations.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Clinical Lab Assistant program or comparable training.
• ASCP or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintain supplies and inventory for departmental functions.
• Observe students and/or new staff as needed.
• Demonstrate basic problem-solving for patient and client care.
• Handle hospital communications and on-call responsibilities as assigned.
• Communicate effectively by phone and in speech.
• Demonstrate professional judgment with clients, patients and coworkers.
• Perform clerical tasks and document critical communications.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Participate in coverage for on-call and holidays/weekends as required.
• Maintain required attendance for shift coverage.
