Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking a PRN childbirth education educator to develop, coordinate, and present community programs in the evenings and on weekends as needed.

The role requires nursing credentials (RN) with OB experience and teaching skills. You will provide accurate information on pregnancy and early parenthood, facilitate classes, and advocate for patients while collaborating with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Diploma program in nursing or associate degree in nursing.
• Minimum 1 year in OB specialty.
• Licensed Registered Nurse on hire preferred.
• CPR/AED Heartsaver preferred.
• Knowledge of adult and childhood educational principles; strong communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides accurate information about the physiology, psychology, and sociology of pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and early parenthood.
• Provides skills to assist women and their support persons to cope with pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and early parenthood.
• Acts as a facilitator who helps couples better understand and value their experience as they transition into parenthood.
• Provides an avenue for communication between the pregnant women and other members of the health care team.
• Serves as an advocate for pregnant women, their partners and infants.
