Job summary

HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist (PRN) to join its OR team. You will assemble supplies, prepare sterile tables, assist in positioning, maintain sterility, pass instruments, monitor patients and help with post-procedure cleanup.

Graduate of an approved program and certification required; BLS required; hospital OR experience preferred for PRN. This role supports a 215-bed acute care facility dedicated to patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved surgical technologist program required.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist required (NCCT, NBSTSA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Hospital-based OR Tech experience preferred, required for PRN.
• Ability to stand, bend, reach, squat, kneel, lift up to 50 pounds.
• Team player attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assemble supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
• Prepare sterile instrument table for procedures.
• Assist in positioning patients and preparing patient’s skin for surgery.
• Maintain sterile techniques and monitor for breaches in sterility.
• Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments, sponges, and sutures.
• Assist in monitoring patients.
• Gather equipment for cleaning/sterilization after procedures.
