Job summary

HCA Florida Largo Hospital is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the OR team. You will greet patients, assist in preparing the surgical area and support the team during procedures, ensuring sterile technique and patient safety throughout.

The role requires graduation from an approved surgical technologist program and active certification, with BLS on file. PRN may require hospital-based OR experience and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved surgical technologist program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (NCCT, NBSTSA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Hospital-based OR tech experience preferred; required for PRN.
• Ability to stand, lift up to 50 pounds and assist in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assemble supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
• Prepare sterile instrument table for procedures.
• Assist in positioning patients and preparing patient’s skin for surgery.
• Maintain sterile technique and monitor for breaches.
• Assist surgical team by passing instruments, sponges and sutures.
• Gather equipment for cleaning/sterilization after procedures.
