Job summary

HCA Florida Englewood Hospital is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (OR Tech) for a PRN position. The role involves greeting patients, preparing for surgery, and assisting the surgical team with sterile technique and instrument handling.

Responsibilities include assembling equipment, preparing sterile tables, positioning patients, and assisting during procedures. Requires program graduation, surgical technologist certification, and BLS; hospital OR experience preferred for PRN.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved surgical technologist program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (NCCT, NBSTSA) required.
• BLS certification required.
• Hospital-based OR tech experience preferred, required for PRN.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assemble supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
• Prepare sterile instrument table for procedures.
• Position patients and prepare skin for surgery.
• Maintain sterile techniques and monitor for breaches.
• Pass instruments, sponges and sutures to the surgical team.
• Monitor patients during procedures.
• Gather equipment for cleaning/sterilization after procedures.
