CNAs assist residents with daily activities, take vital signs, and communicate changes to the nurse manager. A current state CNA certification is required; prior long-term care experience is preferred, and MatrixCare knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• At least one year of CNA experience in long-term care preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a current state CNA certification.
• Knowledge of MatrixCare is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Attend to residents' needs: bathing, feeding, dressing and ambulating.
• Record vital signs and assist with lifting, moving and transport.
• Recognize and report changes to a nurse manager and ask clarifying questions.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, peers and supervisors.
• Report abnormal changes or patterns to nursing staff.
• Assist the nurse with duties as directed.

CNAs are responsible for the following:

• Attend to the individual needs of residents, including bathing, feeding, dressing, and ambulating.




• Responsible for taking and recording patient vital signs, lifting, moving, and transporting residents, using proper body mechanics.




• Recognizing and reporting changes in resident conditions to a nurse manager. Asking appropriate questions to clarify situations.




• Communicating and interacting effectively and tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.




• Reporting abnormal changes or patterns to nursing staff.




• Demonstrating the ability to assist the nurse with various duties as directed.

CNA Requirements:

• At least one year of experience as a CNA in a long-term care setting is highly preferred.




• Must possess and maintain a current state certification as a CNA




• Knowledge of MatrixCare preferred
