TTUHSC Abilene Community Health Center is seeking a PRN Certified Nursing Assistant to assist in an infrequent, on-call capacity. You will perform essential patient care tasks, record vital signs, and maintain HIPAA compliance in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CN A certification, and proficiency with EMR/EHR systems. BLS/CPR certification and ability to work with diverse populations are preferred.

Formación

• Graduation from an approved certified program for assistants in the area of required specialty.
• Certification by an approved accrediting agency in the specialty to be performed.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of TTUHSC information/data.
• Record patient data and vital signs accurately in the EMR/EHR system.
• Hold and update a current BLS/CPR certificate and complete required trainings on time.
• Support patient care teams and participate in meetings as required.
• Assist in determining patient health needs and preferences across diverse populations.

Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I‑129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. Position Description

Abilene Clinic Location A job involving an appointment for infrequent temporary work where the employee is called in as needed.

Major/Essential Functions

Primary duties and responsibilities include:

• Adherence to HIPAA and maintains the confidentiality and security of TTUHSC information/data.
• Have a working knowledge of data entry in the EMR/EHR system with good computer skills.
• Data entry and communication in the EMR/EHR is accurate and timely.
• Maintain a current BLS/CPR certificate/training.
• Complete all required training by the deadlines identified by the organization, leadership, and supervisor.
• Reports data, identifies and reports alterations in patient responses to assist in the identification of problems and formulation of goals by the health care team.
• Attend and participate in meetings identified.
• Takes and records accurate vital signs and measurements.
• Assists in determining the physical and mental health status, needs, and preferences of culturally, ethnically, and socially diverse patients and their families.
• A commitment to serving and working with the University community and demonstrated alignment with the University’s values-based culture.

Occasional Duties

May assist in other patient areas as assigned by supervisor.

May assist in generating data for reporting purposes.

Education

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.

License/Certification

• Graduation from an approved certified program for assistants in the area of required specialty.
• Certification by an approved accredited certifying agency in the specialty that particular work will be performed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in providing services to a diverse patient population through the life span (adult & children)
• Experience with electronic medical/health records (EMR/EHR) documentation
• Experience in providing services to patients with mental illness
• Bilingual English/Spanish
