Job summary

Horizon Health, in Murray, KY, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the inpatient Behavioral Health unit. This PRN position covers day and night shifts on a 12-bed geriatric psychiatric unit, handling assessments, care planning, medication administration and group/1:1 interactions.

The RN conducts mental and physical assessments, maintains patient records, and collaborates with the team to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Complete initial nursing assessment within 24 hours of admission.
• Perform comprehensive nursing care activities and monitor patient conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments following physician orders.
• Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
• Follow facility policies and maintain patient dignity.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and coordinate nursing care activities.
• Conduct therapies according to patient’s diagnosis and needs.
• Perform medication reconciliation.
• Interpret nursing needs to nonclinical staff assigned to the patient.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide best care.
