Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Behavioral Health - Geri Pysch unit. Work involves direct patient care, assessments, and collaboration with the treatment team to develop and revise care plans for adult and geriatric patients with acute and chronic mental health needs.

The role emphasizes a team-based approach in a safe, structured environment focused on stabilization, recovery, and long-term wellness, with full-time shifts including days, nights, and PRN

Qualifications

BLS Provider within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients in accordance with facility policies.
Perform initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments according to accepted standards of nursing practice and develop a plan of care.
Participate in treatment team conferences to assist planning and revising goals and interventions.
Implement nursing plan of care and conduct or co-lead group therapy sessions.

Education

Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND Required professional licensure at time of hire.
