Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a compassionate Direct Care Technician for PRN 3rd shifts at our Facility Based Clinic in Ahoskie, NC. You will support clients with basic needs, provide a safe, therapeutic environment, and assist with counseling in the detox center as needed.

Entry-level role with on‑the‑job training; HS diploma or GED required; CNA or peer support certification helpful but not required. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required for agency vehicles.

Qualifications

• Entry-level, on-the-job training is provided.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Peer support certification or CNA certification a plus, but is not required.
• Maintain valid state appropriate driver’s license and auto insurance for personal and agency vehicles utilized for work.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain a therapeutic and safe group environment and attend to the welfare and basic needs of clients.
• Offer informal counseling in the detox center using behavioral techniques and supportive socialization skills.
