Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in Washington, NC seeks a Behavioral Health Direct Care Technician for the Facility Based Crisis Center. Work from 4pm to 12am, including every other weekend, at $16.82 per hour.

Join a compassionate team delivering mental health and substance use services and supporting residents in a therapeutic setting. The role emphasizes client safety, group facilitation, transport, admissions, discharge planning, and coordinating with treatment teams.

Qualifications

• Entry-level, on-the-job training is provided.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Peer support certification or CNA certification a plus, but is not required.
• Maintain valid state appropriate driver’s license and auto insurance for personal and agency vehicles utilized for work with no restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment while providing client support, encouragement, and motivation.
• Facilitate psychoeducational groups, therapeutic activities, and leisure/recreational programming.
• Transport clients to program activities and appointments as needed.
• Assist with admissions, referrals, documentation, and coordination with community agencies and treatment teams.
• Support discharge planning, aftercare arrangements, and housing resources.
• Administer medications (when certified), monitor vital signs, respond to emergencies, and maintain accurate client records.
