Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Direct Care Technician for the Facility Based Crisis Center in Washing, NC. This on-site, full-time role supports clients in a therapeutic setting, with evening shifts and potential medication administration where certified.

You will participate in groups, activities, and coordination with treatment teams, helping discharge planning and housing resources. A high school diploma or GED is required, and on-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• Entry-level, on-the-job training is provided.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Peer support certification or CNA certification is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment while providing client support, encouragement, and motivation.
• Facilitate psychoeducational groups, therapeutic activities, and leisure/recreational programming.
• Transport clients to program activities and appointments as needed.
• Assist with admissions, referrals, documentation, and coordination with community agencies and treatment teams.
• Support discharge planning, aftercare arrangements, and housing resources.
• Administer medications (when certified), monitor vital signs, respond to emergencies, and maintain accurate client records.
