Job summary

Canyon Vista Recovery Center in Mesa, AZ is hiring a Behavioral Health Associate I to join the multidisciplinary team onsite. You will monitor client behaviors, assist in data collection, provide crisis response, and help ensure a safe, structured environment for treatment participants.

The role emphasizes de-escalation, accurate charting, and collaboration with nurses and supervisors, with CPR certification and relevant training preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.
• Knowledge of common psychiatric disorders and/or dual diagnosis and various treatment modalities of the population served preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe, structured environment and monitors client wellbeing.
• Performs safety checks and follows supervision guidelines.
• Records vital signs and communicates changes to the nurse in charge.
• Assists with incident reporting, transfers, and transportation as required.
• Encourages group therapy attendance and client participation in activities.
• Organizes and sets up equipment for recreational activities and ensures safety rules are followed.
